After all leads are investigated the intelligence gained can be researched and analysed by the police, Intelligence such as who committed crimes in the local are and where. Intelligence can come from many leads that are uncovered in the investigation of the leads. They look into crimes in a general in the area that are similar to the case or specifically one person if they have enough evidence on this person of interest. This stage is beneficial as it can lead the police to gain more solid evidence against the suspect(s).
In the case of Christine Jessop they never looked into the local crimes as they were solely focusing on Guy Paul as the one who had Kidnapped Christine, it would have been helpful if they looked into the crimes in the area as they would have been able to find out more information and possibly find a similar crime in the same area or previous offenders in the area. Had they have looked into previous kidnappings that year they wouldn't have found anything however there are no reports for the previous years. They also didn't analyse the Witness statements due to the detectives pressuring the Jessop family to lie, had both witness statements been checked they would have realised the change in statement and brought up the Jessop family on it. This would have been beneficial as they would have been able to have a solid statement or an excuse as to why it was changed. This was another error caused by the police.
9 Year Old Christine Jessop went missing on the 3rd October 1984 and found the 31st of December. Guy Paul Morin was wrongly convicted October 1984, this blog will go through the case and all its details.
